- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, providing transparent feedback and supporting their professional growth and career progression
- Drive delivery of engineering projects while maintaining focus on quality, timelines, and business objectives
- Establish and uphold engineering standards, best practices, and coding conventions across your team
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other departments to align technical solutions with organizational goals
- Conduct performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and create personalized development plans for team members
- Analyze technical challenges and make decisive, data-driven decisions to optimize team performance and project outcomes
- Foster an inclusive, innovative team environment where diverse perspectives are valued and psychological safety is prioritized
- Manage team resources, budgets, and capacity planning to ensure efficient project execution
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders about project status, risks, and technical decisions
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and encourage experimentation within your team
- Participate in hiring and onboarding processes to build a strong, cohesive engineering squad

Qualifications
**Required Skills & Experience:**
- Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering with at least 2-3 years in a people management or team leadership role
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and evaluate engineering decisions
- Demonstrated expertise in leading and motivating engineering teams through complex projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across all organizational levels
- Experience with performance management, career development, and creating high-performing teams
- Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative development practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Experience managing budgets and allocating resources effectively
**Preferred Skills & Experience:**
- Familiarity with modern software development practices and tools (CI/CD, version control, testing frameworks)
- Experience in a fast-paced, startup, or scale-up environment
- Knowledge of distributed team management and remote collaboration best practices
- Background in mentoring junior engineers and building inclusive teams
- Experience with technical architecture and system design discussions
**Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Certifications in project management or leadership (PMP, Scrum Master, or similar) are a plus
**Domain Expertise:**
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle and engineering best practices
- Knowledge of quality assurance, testing strategies, and technical debt management
- Familiarity with modern technology stacks and emerging industry trends
